Post Installation

Fix WiFi adapter not recognized issue

Use lspci -k to show drivers in use.

Find the Wi-Fi adapter (most likely the Broadcom one)

If the kernel driver in use is either bcma-pci-bridge or b43-pci-bridge, I need this process

procedure

  • sudo pacman-mirrors -f 5 && sudo pacman -Syyu to update system
  • sudo pacman -S $(pacman -Qsq "^linux" | grep "^linux[0-9]*[-rt]*$" | awk '{print $1"-headers"}' ORS=' ') to install Linux headers packages
  • sudo pacman -S dkms
  • sudo pacman -S broadcom-wl-dkms
  • reboot!

Boot option doesn’t show up (on Mac)

Always check this ref: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Mac First, inside chrooted environment, run bootctl --path=/boot install

We’ll modify files in /boot/loader/ change loader.conf content to

    default arch.conf
    timeout 4
    console-mode max
    editor no

add two files (arch.conf, arch-fallback.conf) under /boot/loader/entries/

  • arch.conf

        title Arch Linux
        linux /vmlinuz-linux
        initrd /initramfs-linux.img
        options root="UUID={UUID}" rw

  • arch-fallback.conf (*optional)

        title Arch Linux (fallback initramfs)
        linux /vmlinuz-linux
        initrd /initramfs-linuz-fallback.img
        options root="UUID={UUID}" rw
